
Maximo Oliveros, ang bading na dalaginding, does it once again!
“Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros” was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 22nd Independent Spirit Awards — a first for RP cinema. The Independent Spirit Awards is the independent films’ version of the Oscars. It honors movies produced on small budgets of less than $20 million. Auraeus Solito, the director of “Maximo,” is up against the following films and their respective directors: “12:08 East of Bucharest” (Romania), Corneliu Porumboiu; “Chronicle of an Escape” (Argentina), Israel Adrian Caetano; “Days of Glory” (France/Morocco/Algeria/Belgium), Rachid Bouchareb; and “The Lives of Others” (Germany), Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. The winner will be announced on Feb. 24, 2007. Good luck, Aureaus!
