It is always good to hear of a Pinoy who is proud of his heritage (especially a second-generation one, I assume). I’ve always been disheartened by the number of Pinoys who, having moved overseas, try so hard to hide their culture and heritage and really bad mouth almost everything that is Filipino.

Taray ni lola kala.beauty with a purpose lol. Seriously, its hard to be proud in being filipino, and our culture when corruption is everywhere. Filipinos also look down on gay people (especially the discreet ones) . I am now in Canada and I feel more free here. I had a terrible and traumatic childhood growing up gay in the Philippines. from my relatives to classmates so I cant say I am really proud to be pinoy. (I am not openly gay btw)
