As part of my year-end celebrations, I would like to share with you some 2007 winners… “Winner” sila in the sense that these are some of the things that made my 2007 interesting. Just like the MGG logo, they sparkled and shone this 2007! Read on, and see MGG’s choice for Winner Hunk, Winner Spa, Winner Masseur, Winner Hang Out Place, etcetera, etcetera!
Winner Men!

Winner Hunk: Migs the Manila Gay Guy’s choice for “Winner Hunk” this year is… Joem Bascon. I like the happy-go-lucky thing around him, the right amount of handsomeness, and the “just right” hunky body (not too built). I would have put Enchong Dee but he’s too slender in my opinion that “hunk” may not be the right category for him.

Winner Twink: Enchong Dee. “Twink” is a gay slang to describe an attractive young or young-looking gay male (usually 18-22) with a slender build, a slight muscular physique, and little or no body hair. Very Enchong Dee, except perhaps with a question – is he really gay? But really, I think he is the epitome of the Pinoy Twink. My close runner-up for this category is the 2007 Hunk Of The Year, as chosen by MGG readers, Jake Cuenca.
Winner Kikay Kit!
Winner Beauty Secret: Olay Total Effects+. Yes, dears, Migs the Manila Gay Guy is an avid fan of this beauty product. I’ve tried other products… and I must echo Gretchen Barreto’s “Olay Total Effects can replace my more expensive brands any time!” Hahaha! Promise! I’ve used Ponds and L’Oreal but they don’t compare with Olay as regards maintaining my beautiful mala-porselana skin, hehehe!
Winner Body Wash: Body Shop’s Arber Hair and Body Wash. Lalakeng-lalake, butch na butch ang smell! Before Arber, I was using the Body Shop’s White Musk Bath and Shower Gel. Since Arber, White Musk has become my feet wash na lang, hehehe.
Winner Perfume: I’ve been using Lauder’s Pleasure for years. Never failed to arouse my partners, hahaha! A close second would be the refreshing, citrusy Clinique Happy for Men. For variety I also use Body Shop’s Arber Eau de Toilette every now and then.
Winner Touch!
Winner Spa: Sanctuario in Malate. Great ambiance, the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, along with the new “villa-type” massage rooms clinched the “Winner” title. Runner-up would be its younger brother, Sanctuario Quezon City. It’s much smaller but their lounge is such a relaxing place. I heard Wensha in Pasay is also a treat, but since I have not experienced it yet, I cannot really vouch for the place.
Winner Massage Place: I would say Hilom and Revivir are really neck-to-neck in this category. Both are very well put together, catering to the urban gay men. Hilom’s more upscale though, the design and decor are classy and you wouldn’t think twice showing it off to the more discriminating sosi friends you have. It sits right smack at the center of a restaurant-bar complex so in that sense it is discreet. Revivir is more homey and spacious though, and is situated in a residential district making it another discreet place to have some relaxation and fun on the side as well. While these 2 places are recommendable, I would say the experience would really depend on the masseur you get. I hope you get lucky! Hehehe! (Hint: the best masseurs are normally not the best looking ones.)
Winner Masseur: Albert of Sanctuario Spa in Quezon City. This guy may not be your typical pretty boy but he has his own “bad boy” appeal — not to mention strong hands that know how to do real massage. I repeat, real massage. He’s a real pleasure too — go check him out, and find out what I mean. Runner up would be Derek of Hilom (best in sensual techniques) and Greg of Revivir (best in courteous service, and ‘body massage’).
Winner Sensual Masseur: In my opinion, Gardo of Hilom gives the best over-all sensual experience. If you’re bothered by “transacting” before the act, I say you’ll have no issues with this guy. He gives a great “sensual” experience without the feeling of a business transaction. This is based on my personal experience. I do not know if he transacts/haggles with clients who are not as beautiful as moi (hahaha!) But seriously, this guy made me feel real good about the whole sensual thing, minus the guilt and all drama.
Winner Entertainment!
Winner Movie House: Trinoma Cinemas. I love those that have special Lazy Boy seats. Makes me feel like a King.
Winner Comedy Bar: Bar Uno along Timog Avenue, Quezon City. The intimacy of this place makes it a winner. It’s small and cozy, unlike Laffline, Punchline, or Zirkoh which is like a big arena. Bar Uno hosts also take time to mingle with their audience so feel at home talaga.

Winner Comedy Bar Hosts: Vanessa Kirei and Twinkle of Bar Uno. Vanessa Kirei is physically challenged but with a great spanking attitude — that makes her a winner. Twinkle has the most wit among all comedy bar hosts I’ve seen. Put them together, Vanessa and Twinkle, and you’ll have one hell of a night out! Honorable mention is this guwapo host from Zirkoh Timog who I chanced upon when I went there to watch The Studs launch. I didn’t even get his name, but I say he’s pretty hot! (And great singing voice too! His pic below — sorry can’t get a better one.)

How about you guys, any notable “winners” for you this year?
