   family friends ako ng daily family,tutuo lang ang sinabi ni mrs.mercy at naging saksi ako sa lahat ng paghihirap nila sa buhay.hanga nga ako kay janvier kasi nagsasabi lang sya ng tutuo di madali ang naging buhay nila dati pero malaki ang pag hanga ko kay mercy kc talagang kahit san sya mag punta dala nya ang lahat ng anak nya.at isa pa ang alam ko di mo naman siguro kailangan na maging college level ka para maging artista ka at proud nga ako kay janvier,kc ginamit nya ang mukha nya at tangkad at katawan nya sa pag aartista.unlike sa ibang mga binata jan puro lang yabang at prob.ang binibigay sa magulang nila atleast si janvier nag sisikap sya para sa mama nya.kaya sa mga naninira kay janvier tama na! kawawa naman si janvier wala naman siguro syang hinahangad kung di makatulong sa mama nya.

   ang hirap sa sumulat ng sulat na ito, ginamit nya pa ang pangalan ng nanay ni janvier. Bakit hindi siya lumantad sa showbiz central at duon bumula ng drama nya. At least, she goes on-cam, set the record straight, and hindi na tayo magdududa kung si Mother (of) Mercy nga ang sumulat nito. At dun naman sa mga nagsasabing jaded na tayo, well, hindi ba madalas na tayong magpadala sa ating emosyon at maawa, pero kadalasan pinaglalaruan lang nila ang ating emosyon. I guess we learned our lessons well.

    one comment made a know-it-all issue sa faulty grammar niya. how petty and low do we have to go to put this mother down?
    di ba pag nilait and pagkabading natin we raise hell? bakit tayo nanlalait?

    we have become cynical about everything around us that we nitpick at the littlest of things. a very sad commentary about us as a community.

    if we can’t cut other people some slack, we can’t demand the same thing from the public. this mother, whether fictional or real, raises some very valid issues, one of which is RESPECT for others. is that hard to understand?

    i think the negative comments elicited by the mother’s anguished letter speak volumes about who/what we have become: jaded and uncaring.

    shame, shame, shame on us all.

    If the Daily family survived the streets then, I’m sure they will survive this one too. Janvier entered “showbiz” and this is the price he has to pay. Sometimes, “SILENCE” is the best defense. but then again, showbiz needs to hear a story that will stir attention. And Janvier is full of it.
    Truth is,…he’s on his way up, if he plays the game right. good luck….and Mama Mercy just stop reading the papers and be thankful that somehow your son is now starting to be a celebrity. In due time none of these will even matter.

    I just like to give my bit about the post. “I believe you Mrs Daily and I commend you for fighting for your family and your son but I guess its time to stop yourself from being hurt by other people through their unkind remarks by not reacting to negative comments. It will only aggravate you. About the English, you need not to justify anything. Anyone can learn anything if they strive for it. Going back to the topic, what is more important is that you have done your part, you have explained your side and others like me, believed in you. To Janvier, you should continue to pursue becoming an actor if its your lifelong desire but you should also continue being a good son by protecting your family and kin from intrusion of their privacy. You should be critical and careful as to what information you should divulge. Timing plays a good part too. I may not watch the film but I feel for the family and will support your family Mrs Daily thru prayers. Thanks

    Bottomline, it seems the person who wrote the first letter is different from the person who reacted. Or, the person wrote a gramatically correct intro, then totally departed from it, writing instead tag-lish to be more realistic. I have a haunch this was not really written by the mother but some publicity ad guy/gay. Strange, isn’t it? purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…………

    last night when i read this letter, i was about to send migs an e-mail message saying that something privately to him since he is a friend of janvier, and also thought that posting my reaction here will just certainly ellicit some people to say negative things.

    i am glad to say that i am not alone in observing most gays to pretend to be so smart, elite, high-brow, rich, cultured, refined, educated, or even good-looking by the way that they critize other people. what is there to behold in all those if a person shows no respect? respect begets respect as love begets love. ika ng isang local politican dito sa amin, “amor con amor se paga.”

    Mga kapatid, lalung-lalo na sa mga namimintas sa mga sulat ni Mrs. Daily- ano ba naman ang mawawala sa inyo kung manahimik na lang kayo kung hindi kayo naniniwala na tunay na sulat ng nanay ni Janvier Daily ito? Kung totoo ang sulat, malaki ang ginawa niyong pananakit sa ibang tao. Kung huwad ang sulat at nanihimik kayo, walang nasaktan, walang nagalit.

    By giving this the benefit of the doubt walang mawawala sa ‘kin so I will. I’m impressed sa lakas ng loob ni Mrs. Daily. I can see why they got through those harsh times. I just wish she’d be as persistent with her son’s career as she was during those days. I admit, it’s purely for selfish reasons–I wanna see more of Janvier! Good luck na lang which ever path he (and his family) chooses although, obviously, I strongly wish he’d persist.

    i do not say that i patronize the letter, or the gimmick. i also consider the this may be a mere fabrication or this may really be authentic. i do not know about that MGB issue about mrs.daily pimping her son. but even if i had seen the mgb episode, i still will not be so quick to judge janvier or his mom. janvier will still be the attractive person he has always been to me. i am surprised at how smart people have become – analyzing every little word – and how very cynical, jaded, pessimistic, hateful, antagonistic they have become.

    is there any good that you can see in a person?

    I agreed with what “themis” wrote. The gay community is to judgemental, so vulgar in the way they say things. One can just say its a publicity stunts, but to downgrade someones statement as a family issue, how despicable. I believe this is one of the main reason that people cant accept being gay or does not want to be labeled gay, because it is so terrifying to be associated with a community that bad mouths everything around them.     Anyway, if Janvier Daily wants to quit showbiz for the sake of his mother — assuming what the mother was saying is true — then by all means he should do it. I doubt if people are forcing Janvier Daily to make it in showbiz. My take is this: don’t pass your family’s baggage to the consuming public. It’s not that we know better. We’re just critical.

Let’s give the letter some leeway…back in college i have one cool buddy who spoke extremely good english (perhaps one of the most fluent in english i’ve ever met)…tried to apply for scholarships but he just couldn’t get any because during interviews, his english just blew everyone away…but he was cash-strapped — his parents separated, then each one re-marrying, and he was left with relatives who abandoned him as well…there was a time when he slept in one of the parks (mga two weeks yun) kasi wala siyan matuluyan. i learned about it much later, a few years after we met again and we were already quite successful in our careers. he never “sold” himself to potential clients, although many times along quezon ave (national bookstore, wendy’s), cars would stop and “offers” would pour in for him). he came from a well-to-do family but circumstances made him really poor. he struggled through college, but eventually graduated after 8 years and three courses.

    my point is — i will believe that letter. if in the end it’s fake, then so be it. but i can’t the writer based simply on a possible “mismatch” between who i think she is and what i think she is capable of writing.

    accuse me of being naive but what the woman is talking about makes sense. what happened to us? when did we stop caring? so many of us are so jaded.

    if you don’t agree or believe with what Janvier or his mom is saying, then don’t patronize his movie and projects. for the sake of argument let’s say that it’s all a gimmick, then so be it, anyway, you enjoyed lusting on the guy. if the gimmick works then more projects to Janvier. more chance for us to lust over him. but let’s not go around the net or the tabloids judging people. some people claim that they are not stupid, then if you think this is just stupidity, then don’t bite into it. what will we (you and i) get if we go around putting down other people. if it turns out that this was really just a gimmick then at least for those who believed, this is a story that touched our hearts, fiction or otherwise. who said fiction should not stir us?
