Yesterday, July 12, 2015, I went for my HIV test at my usual place (Love Yourself Anglo).  It’s my routine to do it every 6 months. Even if I have gone through the test many times before, I never got rid of the anxiety, especially during that part when the counselor discusses with me the results. Medyo praning lang siguro.

How about you? Have you gone for your HIV test? Kinakabahan ka rin ba when you go through your test?

Dyan ako nagpa test sa loveyourself shaw last wednesday.

pagpasok ko sobrang dami ng tao. Pero ang bilis ng process in less than 2 hours makukuha mo na kaagad yung result.

Let me tell you the steps para kung mgpa test ka alam mo gagawin mo:

Step 1 : sign the form
Step 2 : kukuhanan ka ng dugo
Step 3 bibigyan ka ng number at yun na ung que mo na turn mo na
    Step 4: mag hiv 101
Step5 : mag counseling ka na
Step 6 : itay ka na ng result
    Step 7 : result na
FREE po ang testing sa kanila :

E highlight ko lang ung nangyari sakin :

super kabado. Super paranoid while waiting sa lounge nila.
Hehe . Salamat at super first time ko. Uulitn ko ung test every 3 months daw . Im negative :Salamat dahil may mga taong nagbibigay ng kanilang oras para tumulong . Salute for loveyourself. Mga tunay na bayani! Kisses to you sir. Dale. Mwah!!

I had my test too at loveyourself. It was a life changing experience, simula sa hagdanan nila na ubod ng taas lol, but seriously nakakatakot talaga sya, yung feeling that what if magpositive ako? Whats going to happen? Sobrang daming questions sa mind ko. Naramdaman nyo din ba yun? Ang daming realization na pumapapsok sa isip ko during the group discussion. I guess its “dale” din ung nag facilitate nung nagpatest at counselor ko. Hinimay himay nya lahat ng topic para maintindihan namin kasi first time. He discussed it with compassion, ung feeling maniniwala ka. Very entertaining pa!! Iba nga ang karisma nya sa tao. Tama ka “carlito” he is a boyfriend material. Kinilig ako ng slight sa knya. Hong cute nya!!! Paki tanong kung may boyfriend na? Haha ang naughty ko lang. But im very happy na may ganitong organization sobrang dami nila natutulungan. If mag papatest ka, punta ka lang sa shaw anglo building at hanapin mo ang loveyourself. Request for “dale” di ka mabibigo. Hahaha glad na non reactive ako.

Had my test last month at Anglo. Brought my bestfriend along for mental support and to keep me calm. We ended up laughing while watching a movie they showed sa waiting area nila. I’m really glad I brought my bestfriend though and she’s like family to me already, certainly helped with the anxiety that comes with waiting, though I can’t say the same for the other people in the room. You can definitely see the tension on their faces (two went unaccompanied) and one brought his parents along (yep, daddy was pretty tensed)

Also, I’d like to commend the staff for making the entire process “less stressful”. My post-counselor Dale was very warm and accommodating, he knew what he was saying and made me feel comfortable and ready for the results. Have I mentioned he’s a boyfriend-material? Hahaha. Such a cutee.

I just had one last week… and just like you, I try getting tested every 6 months… not just for HIV but for other STIs as well… the anxiety is always there but that will usually translate to peace of mind… thanks to Sydney Men’s Sexual Health Clinic…

Me too, the paranoia never came off. My doctor even suggested counselling to help with it, dealing with the anxiety. It can be quite damaging for the sex life. 🙂
