Migs is leaving soon — what will happen to MGG?
51 commentsSo yes, the rumors are true. Migs the Manila Gay Guy is leaving Manila very soon. I will be moving to California, USA. Many ask, “permanently? for good?” I always answer with a smile, “nothing is permanent, hehe!” I will be back for sure. And because my company is so good to me, they may even allow me multiple visits back to Manila every 6 or so months. So this is definitely NOT goodbye. This is not farewell. It’s more like, “sana ma-miss ninyo ako.” LOL. In the meantime, it’s an opportune time to enjoy other bloggers’ blogs. Take for instance Manila’s number one theater expert, Gibbs Cadiz, who is now venturing into my side of the fence — hunky men.

A lot of my friends ask too, “What will happen to MGG the blog?” I answer, “I don’t know.” Being not in Manila and blogging as the Manila Gay Guy doesn’t sound quite right. So the idea of discontinuing the blog, or perhaps, handing it over to somebody else has seriously come across my mind. What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Synchronicity & Serendipity (Batch 2) – SOON!
9 commentsI’ve received more than 20 emails interested in the 5 slots for Batch 2 of Synchronicity and Serendipity meet-up. Anyone else na gustong humabol? I will randomly select by Tuesday evening and inform the participants by Wednesday. Send your emails ASAP! Sa Saturday na ito.
Synchronicity: the experience of two or more events that are causally unrelated occurring together in a meaningful manner.
Serendipity: the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely unrelated.
“S&S” is a small meet-up for 5 people whom I don’t know and who don’t know each other and are open to serendipity and synchronicity. Write to me at manilagayguy@gmail.com if interested and tell me about yourself. I will randomly choose. Conditions are: a) You are not a stalker. b) You are open to meeting people. I envision this small forum of 5 people will be a safe place to exchange ideas, get to know each other without pre-judgment or bias, and enrich each other by just being respectfully ourself.
Exciting! The meeting will be this coming Saturday, January 9, 2010; time and place to follow. I will write about it after, with your personal information kept fully confidential.

Auditions for Zanna, Don’t — A Musical Fairy Tale
2 commentsTo aspiring theater artists, musically-inclined kapatids, this is your chance! Go!
To cap off its 18th season, Ateneo Blue Repertory is proud to present Zanna, Don’t – A Musical Fairy Tale, a show that takes place in a topsy-turvy world where homosexuality is the norm and heterosexuals must battle anti-straight prejudice. Set in a high school, the plot revolves around a teenage ‘matchmaker’ and the scandal that erupts when a boy and girl dare fall in love. The show delivers a humorous and hopeful message of tolerance through an infectious pop-inspired score, hearty dollops of humor, and, of course, a dab of magic!
