The Need to be Touched by a Man

Beauty and Wellness, Issues 73 comments

Based on my own experience, and judging from the popularity of massage/masseur-related posts here (e.g., this post with more than a thousand comments, and this other, newer one also gathering hundreds of comments and counting), it seems that we gay guys have a deep need, I would say a very well entrenched primordial need, to be touched by another man. Masseurs, Masseurs, Masseurs

The most commented post here in MGG is the Male-to-Male Massage post. It already has 1,700+ comments and growing. To ease reading the comments I’m putting this placeholder for newer comments on the same topic: masseurs, masseurs, masseurs. So, in the spirit of sharing, go log your own stories.

Male Masseurs Anyone?

Beauty and Wellness, Hunks, Movies and Music 49 comments

It’s undeniable that a lot of our fellow PLUs (People Like Us) enjoy pampering. Fact is, most of us work like crazy, trying to prove our worth, and in the process earning a decent amount of money for our family and for ourselves. Once in a while, we get that feeling of entitlement towards the moolah we earn — “I deserve some pampering.” Work hard, play hard. I guess this is the fundamental driver of the “Male Massage” industry. Well, at lest that’s my take. A movie, “Heavenly Touch” uses this industry as a backdrop. And on the foreground? These:

Wensha Spa in Timog Reopens

Beauty and Wellness, Places 225 comments

massage I heard Wensha Spa in Timog Avenue, Quezon City has reopened after a couple of months of renovation. According to MGG reader littleboywonder, “The place now looks much better and cleaner after the renovation. The steam room looks nice and clean… with its white interior and never ending steam now. The dry sauna room still looks the same. The dip pool is better designed as well.”

So, the next question is: which masseur should I request for?

New York Spa in Morato, QC

I have visited this spa in Quezon CIty (at the corner of Timog Ave. and Tomas Morato). They have male therapists (some are good looking!) and thus is frequented by PLUs (People Like Us). The locker and wet area are cruisy, and the clientele is a mix of yuppies and and not-so-yuppies. They offer massage therapies only, no scrubs and things like that.

How about “extra”? Unlike in Sanctuario, the masseurs in this place do not voluntarily offer “extra.” This is true at least with the 2 masseurs I’ve tried. (Atsaka good boy na po ako, hahaha!) The private rooms themselves don’t lend well to such activities — the doors have glass panes so those passing through the hallway can actually see the goings on inside the massage rooms.

Maybe you have some juicier stories to share?

Photos of the place can be seen here.

Revisiting Hilom Spa Center

Beauty and Wellness, Cute Boys, Hunks 79 comments

It’s been a while since I gave myself some body pampering. Last night, I was driving on my way home, from a distance, I saw Hilom’s mysterious blue sign again and for a split-second had a dilemma — should I or shouldn’t I?

September was upcoming (my birthmonth) so I know I’ll be spending a lot during the month, ergo, I need to keep a tighter watch on my burse. I drove by Hilom so slowly but finally decided, maybe next time. When I got home though, I checked Hilom’s website. And I thought, I should have given myself some Hilom pampering that night! Why?

Revivir No More

Beauty and Wellness 24 comments

Revivir, one of the massage places in QC I have previously featured here, has closed down. I heard that the owner of the apartment did not want to renew the lease with them. Oh, sad. That whittles down my choice for a massage place in QC to two: Sanctuario and Hilom. I do not think these two places are neck-to-neck in competition. I would even say they complement each other. Sanctuario is for the most discreet and fat-walleted. Hilom is for the more adventurous and budget-aware. Both places are classy in their own right. See:

Body Scrub + Massage at Revivir

Beauty and Wellness 41 comments

One December evening, I went to Revivir Spa, a quaint little massage place tucked in one of the narrow alleys perpendicular to Tomas Morato in Quezon City. I was there once before, I even wrote about it here although did not mention it was in Revivir. (That Star Masseur has since moved on from that place; last I heard, he’s busy managing his barbecue joint somewhere in the cool hillsides of Antipolo.) That December night, I had an agenda, which was to try out Revivir’s Body Scrub + Massage package. Priced at Php 1,000 the package was pretty tempting. I thought to myself, 2 hours of pampering at Php1k? Not bad. Besides, who knows what pleasurable extras I would enjoy within those 2 hours. Hahaha! Well, how did I find my visit? Read on and find out.
