I want to give my reaction to your podcast entitled Homosexuality and Religion. I am a person struggling with same-sex attraction (SSA) but I don’t consider myself gay in the sense that I’m not into the gay lifestyle now. I may have been before but that was a totally different story. And oh yes I still struggle with chastity issues right now and that’s how real it can get.

I just want to reiterate that the Catholic Church does not condemn me or you for being “gay”. In fact, the Catholic Church has an apostolate catering to people with SSA and it is called Courage. You can visit www.couragerc.net for more details. And yes I am a member of that organization.

Our group is a support group and we help each other live a chaste life. We don’t claim that sooner or later we will all become heterosexuals, etc. Nothing of that sort. Instead, we are responding to God’s call to live a life of chastity and that means for many of us turning away from the gay lifestyle and confronting our deepest issues as courageously as we can be.

Honestly that is the most difficult part for us – renouncing our sinful ways and letting the Lord take control. It’s hard and it’s real. It’s not easy but it is possible Migs.

Since pre-school I was called bayot, bading, bakla, etc. because of the way I walk and talk back then. I was bullied in school because of that. But I had never felt attracted to the same sex then. I play dolls with my older sister but I only play them because I like to write and scribble around the dolls’ bodies. I also play robots and video games with my cousins. I thought nothing was wrong with me. I had girlfriends since first year high school. This time, I do not walk and talk like a fag anymore because of puberty, I guess, and I trained my self not to act like one. But deep inside me, I really thought I’m not gay. I fantasize women. I started masturbating when I was in my sophomore year. I am into “straight” internet porn. I had a sexual encounter. But when I accidentally saw a naked man while searching for internet porn, I suddenly became aroused. Much more aroused when I see naked women. And then I started to stick to naked men. I get erections when I see actual naked men. And I asked myself for many times, “Am I gay?” And the odds started to sink into my mind.

Hi Migs,

Let me start off by saying that I am an avid reader of your blog. Love the photos of men, the articles, the letters and most especially the comments that people give! Ang saya saya ng comments ng mga utaw at very lively ito (kung paminsan, eh ang mga commenters ang mismo nag-ookrayan). Gusto ko sanang i-share sa iyo ang aking istorya at sigurado ako na maraming bading ang makaka-relate. I have always been an active guy. Mahilig ako sa outdoors, sports activities, adventures at all-around good-natured trippings but I have a guilty pleasure. I go after straight men. Ika nga ng mga ka-tropa ko eto ang “market” ko. Mind you, I don’t go exclusively after straight men. I’ve had very long-term and rewarding relationships with other gay men, pero getting straight men is the spice in my life.

Getting pretty bored recently, one proof of which is my current hair-do — which is hair-none. Yes dears, Migs the Manila Gay Guy is sporting a semikal look now. A friend was saying “kulang na lang tattoo, mukha ka ng sanggano!” Hahaha, kung alam lang niya, sanggano ang hanap ko. Anyway, one other effect of this summer boredom is a crazy idea, a crazy attempt to make this site a little bit more exciting.

I thought, maybe I can feature more AMATEUR hunks and cuties here. So here’s what I propose to all of you MGG readers: we shall run an online search for hot Filipino men, preferably amateurs, those who have not really been out there in the limelight.
