Manila Gay Guy

I was in a Starbucks shop in Manila recently with no other than DowneLink’s infamous Dencio. He was with Paulo, his beloved partner (also of Closet Badets). We were waiting for Marco (the third guy who completes the triumvirate of the Closet Badets) who was then coming from a nearby school. To while away the time, I was teasing him about his almost magical prowess to hook up whenever he wanted, that was when he was still unattached. So the idea of a quickie interview came up — maybe I’d let Dencio give us some basic instructions on how to get laid in oh-so-gay Manila. Listen and learn.

When it comes to intelligent movie reviews with a gay slant, I leave it to The Bakla Review (TBR). He gives the movie an A-minus rating, which for me says I got to watch the movie. (And I thought I won’t ever watch a Cris Pablo movie again after surviving that harrowing “SEB: Cybergame of Love” movie he premiered at Cinemalaya.) Here’s what TBR has to say about Cris Pablo’s Quicktrip (formerly entitled “Quickie”):

The scenes are breezy, observant, and direct, some of the best in Pablo’s ouvre, or in any of the gay movies this year, with brisk editing and the wistfulness of Isha’s minimalist music. There’s not much actual sex or nudity, but the director’s original cut (one you can’t see in commercial theaters) includes an onscreen cumsh*t by Andro Morgan. Seemingly simple, with a soulful core, Quicktrip has magic.

As gay men, we should be aware that taking care of our skin is a major, major thing. The skin is the first thing anyone would notice. So dearies, some tips on skin care is in order. I tell you straight that the best skin care consists not of Eskinol, or whatever you put on your face, rather it consists of these three things: (1) drinking lots and lots of water; (2) watching out what you eat, and increase your intake of fruits and vegetables;(3) using sunscreen.
