From Malaysia to Thailand With Love

Letters, Love and Dating 37 comments

Here’s a series of letters I received from someone who calls himself “ILoveAlec” a Pinoy gay guy in Malaysia.

Hi Migs,

I’m a big fan of your site. I always read whatever you put there. I’m the guy that hates drama hehehehe. I’ve been wanting to write you for the longest time but can’t find good story to share until yesterday Nov 8, 2008.

I’m currently in Malaysia for a short visit. Yesterday I went to see the Petronas out of curiosity because I’ve been hearing a lot of good words from people who see it and also from the movies. (more…)

A Refreshing Time Off In Tagaytay

Migs Speaks, Places 6 comments

The past weeks have been quite exhausting for me, so I decided to spend some time to unwind, relax, and renew myself. Tagaytay was perfect — it was cool and breezy, and not too taxing to travel to. It boasts of great sights as well, and very comfortable accommodations without being too much of a burden to my bank account.

So here I share photos of that refreshing respite I took away from the buzz and bustle of the metropolis, in the arms of cool and comforting Tagaytay.

Happy 2nd!

Migs Speaks 42 comments

Today, MGG turns two years old!

TWO is such a small number, but for MGG, TWO means…
… 1,085 total posts
… 30,700 total comments
… 1,000,000+ page loads per month*
… 191,000+ unique visitors per month*
… #1 Community / Groups blog (Philippine Top Blogs)
… #17 in Top Philippine Blogs according to Alexa (August 2008, published by PMT)

but really, for me, the following numbers are more important:

For MGG, TWO is ONE – unity in diversity! Despite the differences, world peace pa rin!
For MGG, TWO is INFINITY — because the love you dear readers have showered on MGG is priceless! Thanks to all who sent it their greetings — some coming all the way from America and Africa! Salamat, salamat! (Text messages after the jump.)

Body Scrub + Massage at Revivir

Beauty and Wellness 41 comments

revivirspa.jpg

One December evening, I went to Revivir Spa, a quaint little massage place tucked in one of the narrow alleys perpendicular to Tomas Morato in Quezon City. I was there once before, I even wrote about it here although did not mention it was in Revivir. (That Star Masseur has since moved on from that place; last I heard, he’s busy managing his barbecue joint somewhere in the cool hillsides of Antipolo.) That December night, I had an agenda, which was to try out Revivir’s Body Scrub + Massage package. Priced at Php 1,000 the package was pretty tempting. I thought to myself, 2 hours of pampering at Php1k? Not bad. Besides, who knows what pleasurable extras I would enjoy within those 2 hours. Hahaha! Well, how did I find my visit? Read on and find out.

Woman Writes MGG For Advice: “My husband has a rich gay lover.”

Issues, Love and Dating 167 comments

worried-woman.jpgDearest Migs,

I hope everything’s fine on your end.

I am not your usual reader (Yes, I am a real woman). I came across this great site upon researching about a person’s sexuality. Well, my husband, Ram. And I thought, you can provide a sound advice given a gay man’s perspective.

I’m Ria, I’m a mother of two, a 7-year old and a 2-year old, both girls. I have been married for seven years to Ram, a nice person and a good looking man (I’m proud that my husband is such a cutie). He was my boyfriend for two years in college and after college, we got married because I got pregnant.

He is a good, loving husband and a great father. Aside from fighting from usual, petty things – we are doing good, almost perfect. Except for one, for seven years, I feel that this marriage is a marriage of three people, he has a gay lover — which I knew even before we got married. All these years, I learned to accept our situation but I am now having a change of heart.

Gay In Aeternum

Issues 17 comments

I was with some friends last night, and they were abuzz about my acquaintance Allan coming home albeit briefly from his OFW stint. Allan is the gay guy who got married early this year without the girl knowing her hubby’s true sexuality. (His story here.) Allan married the girl under extreme pressure from his domineering mother who seems to control every aspect of his life (save for his sexual orientation). When Allan left for his OFW stint, the wife stayed on and domiciled with the mother-in-law. Not unexpectedly, when Allan came back for a short vacation here in Manila, daughter-in-law and mother-in-law were not in good terms.

Gay OFW + Straight Tambay

Gay Confusion, Issues, Letters, Love and Dating 71 comments

Here’s a letter, a cry for help from one of our readers, asking for advise regarding his situation. In summary, he is an OFW Nurse in the United Kingdom, in love with a Philippine-based, soon-to-get-married bum back home. I think this is one good proof that when one is in a sticky situation, the circumstances seem to be much more complicated than they really are; and when we are the one watching someone else stuck in something, it seems the situation is so simple we wonder why he chooses to remain stuck. Read on, and feel free to share your thoughts.

Dear Migs,

i have read a lot of stories on the homo-confused section of the manila gay guy website. i know my story is quite common but i want an answer for my own problem.

i must admit that i am gay. i felt this feeling since i was in high school but never entertained it and even when i was in college. all my friends are straight and everybody in my community respects me. alam mo naman sa provinces mataas respect nila sayo if degree holder ka and you keep your feet on the ground so lahat ng friends ko and kumpares are either tricycle drivers, tambays and sunog-baga. i had 3 gf’s before, had sex with them but i enjoy more when im having sex with men. my first sexual encounter with a guy was when i was in saudi.i will not discuss the relationship into detail as he is not the subject of my problem.

i am an ofw nurse in uk, and 35 years old. i have this friend of mine, 27 years old (tambay nga) back home. he is one of my drinking buddies. we drink everywhere and go to beerhouses everytime im on my vacation. i have a crush on him but obviously i couldn’t let him know for the fear of rejection and humiliation. everytime we are drunk, i always put my hand on his shoulders or my head on his lap pretending that i’m very drunk and so at least my elbow could feel his cock. my friends sleep in my room from time to time including him.
